Privacy Policy

Introduction

Inkognito ("we", "us", or "our") operates inkognitowriter.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

This page is maintained by the Inkognito team. It describes our current data practices and is not a substitute for legal advice or an independent audit.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account we collect your name and email address. This is used solely to manage your account and communicate with you about your subscription.

Usage Data

We track how many words you humanize each month and per day to enforce your plan limits. We also record the mode, tone, word counts, and human score of each run.

Submitted and Humanized Text

So you can revisit your past work from the dashboard, we store the text you submit and the rewritten output, linked to your account, in our database. This is the only place your text persists. You can delete any individual run, or wipe your entire history, from your dashboard at any time. Deleting your account erases all of it.

We do not read, share, sell, or use your submitted text to train any model. The text is sent to Anthropic for processing under their no-training API terms, and (when available) to ZeroGPT for detection scoring. Neither provider retains it for training. We hold no other copies beyond your dashboard history.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We never see or store your credit card details. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled.

Legal Basis for Processing (EEA / UK users)

We process your data on the following bases under the GDPR: performance of our contract with you (account, billing, humanization history), our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service (rate limits, abuse prevention, device tracking), and your consent where required (optional communications).

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the service
  • To manage your subscription and word limits
  • To send important account notifications
  • To respond to your support requests
  • To show you your own past humanizations on your dashboard

We never sell your data to third parties. Ever.

Data Storage, Retention, and International Transfers

Your account data is stored securely in Supabase with row-level security. Only you can access your own data.

We retain your account, profile, and humanization history for as long as your account is active. You control the retention of your humanization history directly: delete individual runs or your full history from the dashboard at any time. When you delete your account, all associated data is removed within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain billing records.

Our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Cloudflare) and AI providers (Anthropic, ZeroGPT) may process your data in the United States and the European Union. By using the service you consent to these international transfers under their respective standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA:

Children

Inkognito is not intended for children. You must be at least 16 years old in the EEA / UK, or 13 elsewhere, to create an account. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use TLS in transit, row-level security in the database, OAuth via Supabase Auth, and least-privilege service keys held in encrypted secret storage. No system is perfectly secure, and we make no warranty that the service cannot be compromised. If you discover a vulnerability, please email us privately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
